EZ Adobe – Light Brown Concrete Stain Kit
This EZ Adobe – Light Brown Concrete Stain Kit was created by EZ Stain in order to make the process of selecting the right cleaner, stain and sealer as easy as possible. As our name suggests, it is a primary goal of ours to make the entire concrete staining process as simple as possible whether you have a background in concrete work or not.
Our EZ Adobe – Light Brown Concrete Stain Kit consists of the three major pieces of any project: concrete cleaner, concrete stain and concrete sealer. You have already identified the stain color you want to use, so the remaining two products can be chosen quite simply by identifying the size of the project and the right cleaner to use. In order to successfully choose the right products for your project, follow the steps below.
Choosing the Surface Area
All of our products can be diluted to change the overall look of the end result. For that reason, we recommend testing the products in a discrete location first to ensure that the final look is exactly what you want. With that being said, we have developed some basic product usage instructions – but remember that you have a large opportunity to customize the look of your finished concrete based upon the cleaner type and the dilution of the cleaners and stains.
Generally speaking, we recommend a dilution ratio range of 0:1 to 6:1 (water to cleaner) depending upon the type of cleaner and condition of the concrete, a 3:1 to 6:1 dilution ratio range (water to stain), and a 0:1 dilution ratio (water to sealer). Remember to test the ratios prior to completing the entire job to avoid a look that differs from your expectations.
These ratios also play an important role in determining the amount of product that you need for your project. We have compiled a simplified usage charge in order to help you with this process. But, as mentioned, you may want to make adjustments based on the specific outcomes you are attempting to attain. Our usage is based on the following ratios:
- 0:1 water to cleaner ratio
- 3:1 water to stain ratio
- 0:1 water to sealer ration
Use a measuring tape to measure the total area in square feet for the project. Then select the appropriate sq/ft in the product options. To help understand how we calculate the amount of product needed, please see the following usage chart. This chart combined with any changes you make based on the condition of the concrete and the vision for the final result will help you to help determine which EZ Adobe – Light Brown Concrete Stain Kit works best for you.
|Project Area (Sq/Ft)||Cleaner Amount Needed||Stain Amount Needed||Sealer Amount Needed|
|0 to 300 sq/ft||1 Gallon (128 oz)||1 Quart (32 oz)||1 Gallon (128 oz)|
|301 to 600 sq/ft||2 Gallons (256 oz)||2 Quarts (64 oz)||2 Gallons (256 oz)|
|601 to 900 sq/ft||3 Gallons (384 oz)||3 Quarts (96 oz)||3 Gallons (384 oz)|
Choosing a Concrete Cleaner
Each cleaner we use in the EZ Adobe – Light Brown Concrete Stain Kit is non-toxic and simply be washed off with water. To learn more about them go to our concrete cleaner pages; EZ Concrete Dissolver, EZ Concrete Etch, and EZ Concrete Degreaser. In order to determine the correct concrete cleaner to use, you need to first assess the type of concrete surface you are working with. If your concrete is unstained and non-stamped, you can utilize any of the cleaners EZ Stain makes. However, if your concrete is stamped or pre-treated, you will not want to use EZ Stain Concrete Dissolver. This could potentially damage the finish of that area.
There are three types of concrete cleaner choices that we provide in our kits: Dissolver, Etch, and Degreaser. The current surface is important as well as the desired effect to the concrete surface during the cleaning process. The following usage chart will help you to determine which one is best for your project.
|Cleaner Type||Desired Surface Impact||Compatible Surfaces|
|Dissolver||Reveal Concrete Aggregate||Unstained / Non-Stamped Only|
|Etch||Expose Top Cement Layer||Stamped / Pre-treated O.K.|
|Degreaser||Remove Dirt & Grease Only||Stamped / Pre-treated O.K.|
