How It Works

Color That Bonds Into Concrete

EZ Stain is a pigment-based, zero VOC concrete stain. It soaks into porous concrete and bonds there, so the color won't peel or flake the way coatings and dye stains can.

Why Pigment

Pigment, Not Dye

Most stains on the shelf are dye-based. EZ Stain uses rich, UV-stable pigments with nano-bonding technology, so color holds up to sun and traffic.

UV Stable

Pigments resist fading in direct sun, so patios and pool decks keep their color.

Bonds, Won't Peel

Nano-bonding gives strong adhesion inside the concrete instead of a film on top.

Easy to Maintain

Ready-to-use and zero VOC. Tools clean up with soap and water.

Control the Finish

One Stain, Four Looks

You decide how transparent or opaque the finish is by how you apply it. Always start with a test spot.

Natural

Use it full strength for a natural, semi-transparent finish that lets the concrete show through.

Opaque

Each extra coat deepens the color and hides more of the original surface.

Washed

Thin it with water for a lighter, modern wash. Diluting stretches coverage to about 600–700 sq. ft.

The Process

Four Steps to Finished Concrete

Plan around the weather: apply when no rain is expected for 24 hours, and turn off sprinklers before and after.

Scrub brush cleaning concrete with soapy water before staining

Prep

  • Clean off oil, grease, dirt and efflorescence.
  • Repair anything that isn't structurally solid.
  • New concrete: wait at least 28 days.

Apply

  • Spray, roll, sponge or brush. A pump sprayer with a cone tip is most common.
  • Shake well before and during use.
  • Don't let it puddle.

Dry & Build

  • When the color looks flat, it's dry.
  • Add more coats or colors for depth.
  • Wait 1–3 hours after the final coat.

Seal

  • Apply two or more coats of a film-forming professional-grade sealer.
  • Seal between 50°F and 90°F surface temperature.

Test first. Porosity, age, repairs and old coatings all change the final color. Try your color in an inconspicuous spot before doing the whole project.

Problem Concrete?

Start With Base Coat

Patched, rust-stained or mismatched concrete won't take color evenly. EZ Stain Base Coat primes the surface first so your final color looks uniform.

  • Hides repairs and blends mismatched concrete
  • Conceals rust bleed from rebar and steel
  • Can be tinted with any EZ Stain color
  • Covers about 200–400 sq. ft. per gallon
